CBS

Here are my first impressions of CBS’s fall slate of new shows!

These are the shows I’ll be checking out in the 2014 – 2015 TV Season:

Madam Secretary
Sundays at 8pm

  • SYNOPSIS: This show explores the personal and professional life of  the Secretary of State as she navigates international politics, inter-office conflicts and balances her family life.
  • FIRST IMPRESSIONS: Badass and intelligent female lead. Government. International crises. FEMALE LEAD. I am extremely excited about this show.
  • Trailer [x]

Scorpion
Mondays at 9pm

  • SYNOPSIS: This show follows an eccentric genius and his network of super-geniuses as they form the last line of defense against the complex threats of the modern age [x].
  • FIRST IMPRESSIONS: I don’t feel like the trailer did a very good job at previewing the format of the show, but it did introduce its characters effectively so I’m looking forward to watching and hopefully seeing them be fleshed out.
  • Trailer [x]

The McCarthys
Thursdays at 9:30pm

  • SYNOPSIS: A comedy about a big Irish Catholic, sports-crazed Boston clan and the gay son whose greatest sin is not his sexuality but his desire to spend less time with his family [x].
  • FIRST IMPRESSIONS: I laughed a couple of times during the trailer but not very much. Definitely appreciated the references to ‘The Good Wife’. I’ll watch the pilot at the very least.
  • Trailer [x]

These are the shows I’ll be passing on:

CSI: Cyber (Sundays at 10pm), NCIS: New Orleans (Tuesdays at 9pm), Stalker (Wednesdays at 10pm), Extant (Wednesdays – July 9th)

Trailers for these shows have yet to be released, so I’m unable to form an opinion:

  • Battle Creek
  • The Odd Couple
